Blackberry Vinaigrette

  • 2 cups fresh black berries
  • 3 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • cup water
  • 1 Tablespoon Maple syrup


  • Place the blackberries in a medium saucepan on low heat.
  • Stir the blackberries and while mashing them with a wooden spoon.
  • The berries will liquefy over time, so continue to stir them until all the berries are broken down,
  • Then, remove from the heat.
  • Whisk in remaining ingredients.
  • Wait until completely cool before transferring to another container for storage.
  • Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
  • It Will last 3-5 days in the refrigerator.


When heated, berries break down themselves in the pan and create a thick liquid. Even though other recipes suggest oil, the berries will liquify by simply stirring the, and mashing them with a wooden spoon. No oil is needed at all.
