Ingredients

  • 2 large Baking Potatoes, peeled and shredded 3 ½ cups
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 Tablespoon Egg replacer or 1 flax egg
  • 2 Tablespoons water
  • 1 Tablespon Oat flour or flour of choice
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garkic powder

Instructions

  • Peel and shred the potatoes.
  • Prepare the egg replacer by combining the water and the egg replacementpowder. Stir to combine.
  • Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine.
  • Using your hands, a mold or press, form equal sized hashbrown patties.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 360 degrees.
  • Place hashbrown patties in a single layer on the air fryer pan.
  • Cook for 12 minutes, flipping the patties ahlf way through cooking (6 minutes).
  • Serve with ketchup, or hot sauce, and sprinkle with green onions (optional)

Notes

  • If using frozen shredded potatoes, thaw completely before making the recipe.
  • Patties should be equal in size. If making larger patties increase the cooking time to adjust to the size discrepancy.
  • If batch cooking, preheat an oven to 325 and prepare a baking sheet to keep the cooked hashbrowns patties warm while cooking the remaining patties.
  • If freezing the patties, I suggest freezing them raw rather than cooked. Place them on a baking sheet and flash freeze before transferring them to a ziplock bag for storage. They will store for up to 3 months.
  • To cook frozen hashbrowns, preheatther air fryer to 400 degrees. Place the frozen hash brown patties in one layer in the air fryer with a cook time of 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through with a plastic spatula. If you like a crispier hash brown patty, feel free to let them cook a few minutes extra.
