Air Fryer Artichokes
Air fryer artichokes are a quick and simple appetizer or the perfect snack. These breaded artichokes cooked in the air fryer are crunchy on the outside and soft and delicate on the inside.

- 1 12 ounce bag Frozen artichoke halves, thawed (uncooked) Or canned artichoke halves or whole artichokes in water, drained, rinsed, and dried.
- 1 cup Bread crumbs
- ½ cup Nutritional yeast
- 1 cup Unsweetened unflavored plant milk of choice I used oat milk
- 2 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
If using frozen artichokes, thaw completely in the refrigerator overnight or on the counter for a few hours.
Canned artichokes (in water) should be drained, rinsed, and dried.
In a shallow bowl, whisk the plant milk and dijon mustard together.
Mix the bread crumbs and nutritional yeast in a second shallow bowl.
Dip each artichoke piece in the milk mixture, then the breadcrumb mixture, and place on a prepared air fryer pan or baking pan in a single layer.
Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees.
If using a small air fryer, preheat an oven to 325 degrees and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, to keep cooked artichokes warm during batch cooking.
Cook for 6-8 minutes, depending on the size of the artichoke pieces.
Oven
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Place breaded artichoke pieces on the baking sheet in a single layer.
Cook for 15-18 minutes until the artichokes are browned and crispy.
Serve with lemon basil sauce or sauce of choice.
- f using frozen artichokes, allow them to thaw completely before breading. Do not cook the artichokes first.
- Artichokes canned in water should be drained, rinsed, and dried with a paper or kitchen towel.
- Whole artichoke hearts require additional cooking time in the air fryer or oven.
- When air frying, cook in a single layer in/on the air fryer pan. Do not crowd the pan (leave a little space between each piece).
- Choose your favorite dipping sauce, and garnish with fresh herbs.
- Serve with fresh lemon wedges for additional flavor.
- Use gluten-free bread or bread crumbs for a gluten-free option.
