Homemade Peanut Butter

Homemade peanut butter is the only way to go! This homemade peanut butter recipe is so simple, and you will love it on a grilled peanut butter, banana, and jelly sandwich!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Roasted Salted Spanish Peanuts or any nuts of choice

Grilled Peanut Butter Banana and Jelly Sandwich

  • 2 pieces Whole grain bread
  • 2 Tablespoons Homemade peanut butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Jam or jelly of choice

Instructions

  • Place 1 pound of nuts in a food processor fitted with a large blade.
  • Turn on high and blend until smooth.
  • If the blade stops spinning and the peanut butter is not smooth, scrape the sides of the food processor down, and process until smooth.
  • Continue until smooth.
  • For crunchy peanut butter, chop ¼ cup peanuts first, and remove. Then process the rest of the peanuts until creamy.
  • Fold in chopped peanuts.
  • Store in the pantry in an air-tight container for up to 3 months.

Grilled Peanut Butter Banana and Jelly Sandwich

  • Spread 2 Tablespoons of homemade peanut butter on one slice of bread.
  • Slice one banana into thin slices.
  • Place the sliced banana on top of the bread with the peanut butter, covering the surface.
  • One the other piece of bread, spread 2 Tablespoons of jam or jelly of choice.
  • Place the sandwich in a skillet on the stove on medium heat.
  • Cook for 5 minutes until brown on one side. Then, flip the sandwich over and cook for another 5 minutes until toasted.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • Roasted Spanish peanuts are my first choice. for making peanut butter, but you can use any nuts you prefer.
  • If you want to add a little sweetener, use 1 teaspoon of date syrup, agave, or maple syrup, and taste to adjust to preference.
  • For chocolate-flavored peanut butter, add 1 Tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa butter and 1 teaspoon of sweetener.
  • I like it plain without any frills.
